While the high tech and internet bubble may have burst years ago, the heart of Silicon Valley still beats loudly as America's business capital (sorry, New York). The Valley continues to attract a growing number of business and convention travelers with powerful companies like Facebook, Apple, Cisco, Google, Yahoo, Ebay, and Adobe dotting, or should we say, "dot.com-ing" the San Jose and surrounding landscape. As new companies sprout into big plants, thanks to a sprinkling of venture seed money, Silicon Valley's future looks as bright as a plugged-in LCD.
But those traveling to San Jose, Palo Alto, Milpitas, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View and Cupertino, should not expect the glitz, glamour, and nightlife of big sister San Francisco. Locals say the Valley sleeps after midnight when restaurants close and streets go silent. Our late night tours through the city certainly confirm the zzzz's. Most locals prefer early morning workouts and outdoor activities to late night escapades and hangovers.
