HGI shares a parking lot with another economical hotel, Larkspur Landing. Both are steps from a larger strip mall that includes In/Out Burger, Sushi King, Borders Books and 20+ other chain stores. If you eat at one of the aforementioned less than healthy fast-food joints, you had better work off your sinful ways in HGI's on-site gym. Fortunately, the hotel supplies guests with a well lit exercise room stocked with top notch cardio machines. Choose among Precor's treadmill, recumbent bike or elliptical. All have personal viewing screens attached. A 5-50 lbs. dumbbell set is also provided for a basic strength routine. The workout room is small and narrow, but there's enough equipment inside to make you sweat and burn off the fat. Joggers also should consider an outdoor jaunt along the Coyote Creek Trail, a paved path that can be picked up across the street from the property. As far as the rest of the accommodation, this HGI is very similar to many hotels in the family: Four stories, smoke free, standard floorplans, desks with Herman Miller chairs and complimentary WiFi. King-bed rooms are outfitted with HGI's premium bedding and some also come equipped with 32-inch flat panel televisions. This particular HGI is very near Cisco Systems, KLA Tencor, JDS and other high tech companies. Swimmers will want to drive ten minutes to the Milpitas Community Center because HGI's outdoor pool is too short for lapping.
