Here's the rub on the Georgian Terrace: it's an historic hotel with more tradition than any other Atlanta property. Georgian is also located in a very convenient Midtown location, especially for those heading to the Fox Theater across the street. The lobby and common areas are stylish and different. The open air atrium is dramatic. We like the unusual decor elements and staff is tremendously friendly and helpful.
Standard rooms are fairly small at 200-250 square feet and come with free WiFi, flat screen HDTV, hardwood floors, large closets, and attractive marble baths. The luxury rooms are significantly bigger at 525-625 square feet and then there are "extended stay" options which boast a full kitchen and washer and dryer. We suggest talking to staff before booking as rooms vary quite a bit.
In terms of the fitness option, we really wish the equipment selection matched the cool and airy ambiance of the top floor space. Instead you will find a mix of old and new exercise machines. There are treadmills and ellipticals, but NO cycles! On the upside, Georgian does stock an impressive amount of strength equipment, including bench press free weights, items rarely seen in hotels.
Swimmers also get a reasonably useful option on-site during the warmer months. Georgian's rooftop pool is open year round, but it isn't heated so we doubt you'll want to take a dip during the winter.
Guests looking for a more traditional health club experience should walk 4-5 blocks to LA Fitness.
Joggers should consider our Piedmont Park route.
