Athletic-Minded Traveler

The park is built on a floodplain, has a three-acre lake, and contains a greenway between Sardis Road and Independence Blvd. The main entrance on Monroe Road is the start to a 3.1-mile national class cross-country course.

The courses and trails are relatively smooth with a crushed stone and pea gravel surface. On Saturday and Sunday mornings you can usually find groups of runners leaving from Sardis Road between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m.
