This once abandoned rail line is now a 2.7 mile urban trail. It's above ground and runs between Ashland (1600 W) and Ridgeway (3750 W). The trail currently has 12 access points with a total of 17 access ramps.

Established in 1868, Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the U.S. And, it's one of the remaining free zoos too! During the frigid Chicago winters, many of the animals (except the polar bears, of course) stay inside, but you can still walk through this landmark 365 days a year.

POPS is an upscale and unique place that serves champagne, cocktails, small plates along with live jazz music in the River North area (close to the Magnificent Mile). Live jazz Sunday through Tuesday beginning at 9p.

If biking, walking or in-line skating is too much work for you, try renting a Segway from Bike Chicago and head out on a tour of of the city. Packages start at $75--tours run from April to October. The outfit also offers less expensive tours on the Segway Glides.
