Sheraton sits on the banks of the Chicago River, within a 10-minute westerly walk to Michigan Avenue shops, a 10-minute easterly walk to Navy Pier, and a 10-minute southerly walk to the Loop's office buildings. It's a large hotel (1209 rooms & 34 stories), but it's not so big that guests get lost in the shuffle.
Rooms are adorned in conservative beige tones, comfy Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Beds, and modern workstations with high speed internet (fee applies). 24-hour room service is an added perk for those with late night munchies or day time snack cravings. And for your morning coffee fix, be sure to check out the second level Link Cafe. It has a Starbucks feel to it.
On the sweat front, Sheraton offers athletic-minded travelers an well appointed space with even nicer machines on the 7th floor. Top of the line Life Fitness cardio equipment is set up facing windows that overlook the Chicago River. Strength enthusiasts can use the dumbbells, cable-cross machine, weight bench and the mutliple stack loaded machines.
Lap swimmers, the 12-yard square water box really won't serve your distance needs. If it's summer, you may want to consider an open water session at Ohio Street beach. In winter, there is a worthy indoor option at the Lakeshore Sport & Fitness, which is about 1/4 mile away. Runners should consider an outdoor jaunt along the Lakefront path.
