Options like these prove we have really done our homework for you! Beyond the city limits and just outside the State's border, this Marriott is a viable and worthwhile alternative for Cincinnati visitors. Located on the south bank of the Ohio River in Kentucky and directly across from the heart of Downtown, it only takes a short 1/4-mile drive across the Roebling Suspension Bridge to put you in "Porkopolis." The commute is made even easier by Marriott's complimentary shuttle service during weekday business hours.
Marriott's guest rooms are modern and cool with wood floors and desks, unique wall covering and an overall streamlined vibe. The hotel's hospitality includes complimentary bottled water, mini fridge, coffee maker and free internet access. For those looking to get fit, the gym will not disappoint. Equipment is organized in a long and narrow room with newer cardio machines and stack-loaded weight stations stealing the show. We were impressed by the number of stack-loaded Cybex machines. Equally impressive is Marriott's willingness to provide free weights for bench press and squat reps. The cardio machines are in good condition, but some are the cheaper Trotter and Tectrix brands. The air temperature seemed a little chilly, so bring along a layer to shed once you break a sweat.
Swimmers will be intrigued by the 25-yard pool but not delighted. Without floating lines, swimmers must navigate the two lanes using the wide stripes on the pool's bottom. We did not see any toys or a pace clock, so those planning on base interval training should bring a wristwatch.
