Mansion on Turtle Creek is a private and peaceful accommodation that makes you feel as if you're visiting a wealthy friend rather than a public hotel. With only 143 rooms, the boutique property easily caters to its guests' every whim. For example, in addition to concierge and secretarial capabilities, complimentary luxury sedan service is available for short jaunts within a 5-mile radius of the hotel. Now, that's a nice touch. This hotel is very popular for special events. So if it's spring or summertime, expect to see a bride or groom.
Rooms are sophisticated and classy, earth toned yet colorful, and large but not empty. You should feel very comfortable in these 450 square-foot temporary abodes. And, the bathrooms are even more impressive with marble baths and vanities, separate walk-in showers, and deep soaking tubs. 24-hour in-room dining is available from the famed restaurant and high-speed internet access is available for a fee. If we were judging Turtle Creek only on its guest quarters and overall ambiance it would receive our "Gold" rating.
As you know, hotel gyms play a large part in our rating system and Turtle's fitness offering is short of the leading "hares" in this neck of the Dallas woods. Don't read us wrong: the Mansion's loft-like gym with hardwood floors and open/dark ceiling should provide enough equipment to get many through a pleasurable on-the-road sweat. We simply like the options at a few of its competitors more...and believe you will too. Still, all of the cardio machines have TV’s attached and are in good working order. The 8 stack-loaded weight stations offer a well-rounded strength circuit. Dumbbells weighing up to 50 pounds are also stocked.
Joggers should consider a trek along our recommended Katy Trail route since you'll be able to pick it up just out the Mansion's front door.
