This community center provides the a high quality lap pool in downtown Dallas and a more elaborate workout option for nearby hotel guests. If you're going to be in Dallas for a week or less, sign up for the free 7-day guest pass on their website. Once you've done that, all you need to do is present the confirmation e-mail that comes after you sign up and a government ID. Boom! Seven days on the house.
This Y delivers a powerful punch of superior equipment in its 21st century facility. It was fully renovated, with updates to the locker rooms, yoga and Pilates rooms, new equipment, and a layout redesign.
The third floor welcomes with the reception area, cardio rooms, and a lounge/seating area. The fourth floor houses the racquet courts, and 70+ pieces of cardio equipment along the floor's perimeter. Sweat fiends can gaze out the windows and be distracted by the outdoors. All equipment is in tip-top shape and we like that there is a collection of 12 Hammer Strength free-weight machines along with over 30 stack-loaded weight stations for strength buffs. TRX, punching bag, sport courts, indoor and outdoor track...it's all here.
Swim fans can use the main locker-rooms or the changing rooms near the pool deck. There are no lockers there, just cubbyholes. Our aquatic friends will be rewarded with a more than adequate water box. Although 8 lanes are divided by floating lines and bottom stripes, a portable staircase intrudes on lane 1. All the bells and whistles we expect from a competition pool are here, including a pace clock, toys, and backstroke flags.
This center or the Verandah Club are swimmers two best bets for lapping in/around downtown Dallas.
