This is the largest and most upscale private health club in this section of Motor Town. Unfortunately, the only out-of-towners lucky enough to share its fitness wealth are guests of the Townsend ($25/day or $35/week).
If you can get in, your heart will pitter patter with workout excitement then thump from exercise fatigue. Inside the 90,000 square foot facility, fitness fans can choose among a vast selection of cutting-edge cardio machines (e.g., 15 treadmills and 14 ellipticals), new stack-loaded weight stations (25), a ton of free weights, as well as TRX. Although Beverly serves up a great spinning studio with modern bikes available for anytime use, we saw no computerized uprights on the main fitness floor.
Beverly does not leave swimmers high and dry. Its 3-lane, 25-yard lapper is well marked with floating lines and bottom stripes. All necessary toys are here as well as a pace clock for interval work.
