This enormous, 72-story convention hotel is located in the heart of downtown Detroit in the Renaissance Center, known locally as the "Ren Cen." While public and private efforts have been made to add something..anything...to the Motor City's hub, it is still a vibe-less concrete

Wide selection of both cardio and strength options is a cheery space.
Hilton Garden Inn
Gold
North of the Detroit River and south of Comerica Park and Ford Field, the Hilton Garden Inn makes our list for downtown location and an amazing community center relationship.
Price: Moderately Expensive Fitness Facility:
A few worthy cardio pieces and some strength equipment, but skip it and take the free community center pass.
Hotel St. Regis Downtown Detroit
Bronze
We are reluctant to put "Bronze" next to this hotel's name; but with the dearth of appealing properties in downtown Detroit, this bare bones New Center hotel got our nod for its across-the-street location from the phenomenal FitnessWorks Athletic Center.
Price: Least Expensive Fitness Facility:
Across the street from a state of the art health club. Entry fee applies.
