This chain has all the key cardio and strength pieces. It's not plush nor oozing amenities, but the location is convenient and there are locker rooms with showers, group fitness classes, and a steam room. Don't fret any poor reviews...you're just renting not owning!
- Healthclub
This is a well stocked YMCA with good cardio equipment, resistance equipment and free weights. YMCA members from other cities may want to consider utilizing this Y's small but appealing fitness floor because your entry is free. All others must pay $12.

Because sometimes you want variety in your workout! Hive offers indoor cycling, rowing, HIIT, and yoga, all under one roof. And the view is nice too. The studio leans upscale with a modern lobby, high end equipment and nicely appointed locker rooms with showers.

There are likely closer workout spots for those staying in Edmonton's downtown hotels, but nothing is as HUGE as this unique facility. Kinsmen is a massive recreational that encompasses a Field House and Aquatic Center.

- Swimming Pool
This community college is a unique workout venue and proves (once again!) that we do our homework. We recommend it primarily for its wonderful lap pool, a true competition lap pool in downtown Edmonton.

- University/College

Located not too far from downtown, this studio is likely yogis best bet for a hot yoga class. And while you will be toasty on the mat, the heat isn't super hot. The studio has been in operation for years and at one point was a Bikram only studio. But no more.
- Yoga
Unique and unusual workouts are always fun to uncover in cities throughout the World. Along 100th Street, behind the Fairmont MacDonald Hotel is one of the longest staircases we've come across. We counted 200 steps!
- Outdoor stairs

Edmonton's run and bike paths are legendary. Follow 100 Street down behind the Fairmont Hotel to the North Saskatchewan River banks (you'll have to descend a 200 step staircase).
- Running Route

This indoor cycling studio will get your heart rate up and the sweat flowing. The location on the map is for the Jasper Ave. studio. There is an additional location on Whyte Ave. Go to the website, and click Book a Class and you will be directed to choosing one of these two studios for Edmonton.
