Only a 2-minute walk from the train station, this luxury hotel offers a choice between a historic accommodation within its original structure or modern quarters housed inside a new "business" wing. The choice is a no-brainer, as all 220 rooms in the new wing are delightfully outfitted with Scandinavian design furnishings featuring sleek lines and creative curves, open floorplans, LCD televisions, and unique seating options. Other than proximity to the train station, the only pro to Le Meridien's location is its convenient access to the river (great for joggers and walkers). Appealing restaurants and tourist attractions are a very long walk away. We suggest a taxi. Room rates are pricey, but keep an eye out for deals.
It's a long, winding and odd trip to find the 4th floor gym. Guests must traipse through a back hallway and shower area before entering the tiny facility. Fortunately, gleaming Life Fitness cardio machines await your arrival. But, muscle-pumpers are ignored as no strength apparatus is stocked, not even a dumbbell set!
