Too bad Mövenpick isn't a little closer to the heart of Frankfurt. Guests staying at this Fairgrounds property will need to walk 5-minutes to the subway ("U-Bahn") or hail a taxi from the front door to reach most city destinations. The immediate vicinity is desolate, especially on weekends, but the hotel has several things going for it.
The 7th floor, L-shaped gym boasts attractive wood floors, a pleasant design, and large windows (allowing in ample natural light). Newer Technogym cardio machines face the windows and an overhead television. They also boast "modern fitness equipment, including barbells and more." Unfortunately, the only strength option is one Bowflex dumbbell set (adjustable weight). Hours are 6am to 11pm daily.
Swimmers really have only one legitimate option in Frankfurt and that's at the Hilton. Moevenpick has no pool.
The rest of the accommodation is nothing special, but fine for a night or two, especially if business in the adjacent Fairgrounds area has brought you to town. Crisp white linens and duvets, small televisions, complimentary WiFi internet access and glass showers are notable features. Keep an eye out for deals on nightly rates. Whether we are on a business or leisure trip we always prefer to stay near a city's pulse and while Moevenpick maintains some worthy attributes, including wonderful service, its location is a significant detractor for our tastes.
