If you are in the hunt for a luxurious beach and golf destination that offers state-of-the-art workout facilities, look no further than the Lodge at Ponte Vedra. The Lodge and its sister property (The Inn) are located about 20 miles southeast of Jacksonville on the Atlantic Ocean shores. Within 2 miles of one another, each provides unique first-class accommodations.
The larger Inn showcases its 250 units in low-rise Floridian style buildings, while the more intimate 66-room Lodge differentiates itself with a Mediterranean flair. Both hotels continually receive stellar reviews and have collected numerous travel industry awards.
Since this is primarily a fitness site, we will stick to the fitness options and let you have fun exploring these resorts' features online. The exercise centers are similar in size and quality, and it's free for guests! The brand new high-end equipment in the two immaculate facilities will surely satisfy. An added bonus at the Inn is the endless Atlantic Ocean views giving it a leg up over the Lodge in the atmosphere category. Classes are offered at both, including aerobics and cycling.
Swimmers are not left out of the fitness festivities as both resorts boast serious lap-swim options, at no cost. Swimmers will happily find floating lane lines and bottom stripes along with kickboards and pull-buoys. Again, the Inn "one-ups" the Lodge with its dramatic Ocean setting.
While we relished the seclusion of the Lodge, we prefer the Inn for its superior fitness center, proximity to the golf courses and spa (Lodge guests must go there to golf and get rubbed), and greater selection of dining options. But stay here if you're looking for a little more seclusion and privacy.
