It’s inviting, cool, and LA hip (but not too hip) with its tile bar, bright Mexican print pillows on the booth backs, cool wood accents including a high, vaulted ceiling, and big store-front windows. The lighting too is just right and architecturally in keeping with the stylish feel. And happily, you will easily spot this vegan eatery’s awning and sign. The back outdoor patio also welcomes with a nice courtyard feel and plentiful heaters for cooler temperatures. The food gets high reviews. It’s vegan, nearly all organic and inventive. For light or hearty eaters, there are myriad options. While we don’t typically cover the drink options, do take a look here. It’s a focus.
If you come for brunch, you’ll be treated to plantain French toast, chilaquiles, tofu ranchero scramble, avocado toast, granola, fruit and a breakfast sorta made with a grilled wheat roll, chorizo, coconut bacon, cashew nacho cheese, romaine and tomato. Lunch begins at 11a and offers grilled veggies, tostadas, quesadillas, a chopped salad, a kale salad with roasted veggies, spinach salad the traditional hominy stew “Pozole”, and a quinoa, kale and roasted squash bowl. We like that the sides list is long and offers the opportunity for more veggies or protein. Dinner’s menu is similar to lunch but with the addition of more appetizers (crab cakes, papas el horno, and more main dish options. The long sides list remains as do the salads.
