Breakfast, lunch, or dinner please at this popular, long-standing cafe (est. 1990). It's very LA, meaning that service can be rather sporadic. But given the friendly price point and athletic-minded menu options, we recommend it. Decor is cafe casual; old-school and trendy all at the same time. Only in La La Land. There are big windows that look out onto Beverly Blvd, original artwork, TVs over the bar, weathered wood tables and chairs and high ceilings. Outdoor seating is also available. If you're a coffee drinker, come here. Many Angelenos swear it's the best the city has to offer.
Breakfast is served all day and there are favorites for varying tastes: veggie omelet, garden burger frittata, huevos rancheros, "protein power" (grilled chicken breast, 2 eggs, cottage cheese), breakfast burrito, quesadilla, oatmeal, granola with fruit, lox plate and the sweet stuff (buttermilk pancakes, whole wheat granola pancakes, French toast). The lunch/dinner menu offers soups, real salads with ingredients like baby greens, ahi tuna, grilled shrimp, cremini mushrooms, grilled vegetables, oven roasted chicken breast, kale and arugula. Heartier burgers come in beef, turkey or garden. The stone oven turns out 8 pizza selections including a wild mushroom, artisan Italian sausage and a grilled chicken breast "enchilada". The menu keeps going with grilled panini sandwiches and the "Baja Menu" which offers burritos, fish tacos and a vegetarian quesadilla.
