Wow! Larger than NYC's Central Park, the English Garden is the best place in Munich for joggers, walkers and outdoor enthusiasts to get their groove on. Even surfers have a home here (see our photos). Trails and paths wind through all parts of the park so pick one up from any side and follow to your heart's content. Even a beer garden can be found on the park's north side near the Chinese pagoda. Be smart about safety as many of the trails pass through dense brush and tall trees. (Keep in mind violent crime in Munich is very rare.) Note: A 400-meter oval is also within the park and was accessible during our visit, but we're uncertain whether this track is always available to the public.
