This studio is just a few miles west of downtown (but east of Schlosspark and the castle at Nypmhenburg). The nearest U stop at Rotkreuzplats is just a few blocks from the studio. Specifically, it is located next to Red Cross Square and at the rear of the building.

This 6-lane x 25-meter, indoor pool is about as good as it gets in the heart of Munich. Unfortunately, it's closed for renovations until 2016.

These beautiful trails are not as notorious as Munich's popular English Garden or famed Olympic Park, but they provide just as good jogging and walking routes. There is a crushed stone path that winds through dense patches of trees, hedges and grass and approximates a 2-mile loop.

This tiny gym located on the second floor of an office building a half block from Marienplatz squeezes a small array of cardio and strength equipment into one main workout space that has an office-like feel.

This Fitness First is a small, yet very impressive, club in trendy Schwabing. All new equipment lines the hardwood floors on two loft-like levels. Most machines are Life Fitness models. Free weights, dumbbells, every workout modality is here and in good shape (along with most of the members).

Destroyed during WWII, Hofgarten ("courtyard garden" ) has been rebuilt as part landscape garden and part formal garden with historical monuments, etc. Walkers and joggers will find the stone perimeter paths conducive to an enjoyable and uninterrupted route.

Pick up the path along the river banks and head north for as long as your heart and legs desire. A paved path parallels the Isar and stretches all the way to the town of Freising, much farther than you'll ever run.

Nordbad houses a 33-meter lap pool with newly-added bottom stripes. Disorganized swimming might still be the case, as most people here are breast-stroking and getting in the way of others.

As the best pool in all of Munich, locals come from near and far for a dip in this former Olympic-hosting water box. 50 meters, divided lanes, a tall ceiling, and serious swimmers (depending on the time you arrive, of course).

Spending a day inside Olympia Park is possible with the assorted attractions available for touring or playing. Get nostalgic at the 400-meter track utilized during the 1972 Olympics. (Unfortunately, running on the track is not allowed.) Test your putting accuracy at the minature golf course.

For two weeks in late September/early October this 100+ acre concrete park is the grounds of Munich's Oktoberfest. During the rest of the year, it makes for a traffic-free and convenient running and walking venue. Pick your path.

Ungererbad is a huge, outdoor, park-like public facility that sports several pools, vast lawns and a 57-meter waterslide. None of the pools are set up for competition lap swimming (no lane lines or bottom stripes), but they are long enough to swim across and accrue significant distance.
