Most space in this enormous indoor public facility is dedicated to its two swimming pools, diving well and ice skating rink (used as a practice facility by the NHL's Nashville Predators). Local high schools and Masters' groups train and compete in the main pool. It is typically set up for 22 lanes of 25-yard short course even though it's 50-meters long. Some pull-buoys and kickboards are usually on deck, but don't be surprised if you have to do without. Of course, as a competition pool, swimmers can count on staples such as pace clocks. A practice pool is also on-site, but its 88-degree temperature is warm for any serious swimming.
The fitness center is housed in a separate building along with indoor tennis courts. Pretty much everything you need to sweat and build muscle is here. Classes such as cycling are also offered. The very friendly $9/day fee will be money well spent!
Come here for the pool and/or ice skating rink and look elsewhere for a traditional cardio or strength workout. The ice rink is open to the public on Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun for $9/day ($2/day for skates).
