Not endowed with the same glamour or character as its higher priced rivals, Courtyard's heart of downtown location and more thrifty rates make it a worthy challenger every day fo the week. The former bank building is unique inside with soaring ceilings and unique common areas including a "theater" (think library type alcove with a big TV and comfy seating). Since, the hotel is only a 5-minute walk to Second Avenue's dining and entertainment district, guests can conveniently sample Music Town's menu of fun. The 192 guest quarters are fresh and stylish and come with standard amenities such as mini fridge, coffeemaker and complimentary internet access. Keep in mind that some rooms are really small!! There's a SBUX in the lobby.
The in-house gym has several useful cardio pieces, but for those looking to add strength, it is lacking. An option is to walk a half-mile to the Downtown YMCA and sweat until your heart's content. The primary reason we recommend this hotel is for its typically affordable room rates and convenience to this YMCA ($15/day).
Swimmers should consider a taxi or drive to Sportsplex, which houses the best pool in the area.
Runners should consider an outdoor jaunt along our recommended route.
