Across the street from the State Capitol and a 10-minute walk to Second Avenue's shopping and entertainment venue, the Hermitage is Music Town's most upscale and posh accommodation...well IF you define posh as ornate and very old school. Just look at the images!
Guests will be pleased by upscale décor, premium Frette linens, marble baths, complimentary high speed and wireless internet access, daily newspaper delivery, turndown service accompanied by bottled water and a sweet treat, and Nespresso coffee machines.. Additionally, Hermitage differentiates itself with its cooking demonstrations, room-service pet menu and personal shopping services, all for a charge, of course. Capitol Grille is the hotel's fine dining establishment and steak lovers will approve. And, service here is about the best in Nashville.
So does Hermitage have a chink in its old world armor? With all the luxury and fanfare throughout the rest of this hotel, the Hermitage's workout room is rather disappointing. Instead of spending cash on a first rate exercise experience, this one is very "medium." All apparatus is in fair condition, and the televisions are a nice addition, but serious athletes may be hankering for more.
If you plan a quick sweat or a brief strength session, this gym should suffice. A more elaborate conditioning will compel you to walk five minutes to the Downtown YMCA.
Swimmers can lap it up at the Y or drive/taxi to Sportsplex's superior pool.
