After seeing the number of people coming through this fitness center's turnstiles, we thought the this high-traffic community center might be appropriately renamed the "Grand Central Station YMCA." During peak hours, cardio machine time limits, "working-in" on weights, and sharing swim lanes are standard practices. During non-rush hours, things calm down a bit, but the term "empty" could never describe this notable facility, especially since it is also has boarding options.
We recommend this Y to those staying at the nearby hotels for its close proximity and fantastic equipment. New cardio and weight machines captivate exercisers while an above-average lap pool entertains swimmers. As long as you are a "people person," you should have a happy workout experience here, leaving the showers refreshed and ready to take on the City.
The only major downer for out-of-towners to this community center is the hefty $30/day price tag (reduced fee applies to members of other Ys).
