As the largest public park in Paris and one of Montparnasse's beautiful greenscape gems, this park is a popular spot for curious tourists, romantic strollers and athletic-minded joggers. Anyone staying in the Montparnasse area should come here, if not for a morning jog, than for an afternoon tour. The dirt/crushed stone paths meander past beautiful trees and picturesque green lawns. Note in our photos the number of people jogging. The longest trail which encircles the park measures a tad over 1.25 miles, perfect for a 5 mile day starter. Other park features include tennis courts, the Palais du Luxembourg, a small merry-go-round, and many statues (including a replica Statue of Liberty).
