Located in the Bastille district, this Moroccan restaurant will transport you with its authentic décor of aged yellow walls, big cushions, Turkish rugs, lanterns, tapestries and more. Just check out the site to get the full flavor. In terms of menu, it's definitely lighter than traditional French fare and there are a few grilled items and salads on the menu that will please those looking for something light and less "saucy."
Tagines are the specialty here. For those not familiar with a tagine, it's a North African dish that is slow cooked in a special heavy clay pot. Tagines typically include some sort of meat, fish or vegetable as well as fruits. The spices may include cinnamon, saffron, ginger, and garlic. At Le Souk there are 6 to choose from. Other menu items include salads, fresh vegetable plate, various cous cous based entrées such as one with chicken, raisins, onions, and mushrooms. Last, a few grilled items also grace the menu including chicken, lamb, and beef.
