Maceo offers fine dining in an elegant and classic setting with high ceilings, contemporary artwork, and bright lighting. The tables are well spaced and conducive to business meetings or private gatherings. While the cuisine is French, it is more contemporary than many Parisian spots AND there is a fixed price vegetarian menu. We think this balance along with the very good service make it worth recommending to those looking to spend a little more. Maceo is close to the Palais Royal gardens and adjacent to its sister restaurant Willi's Wine Bar.
The chef prioritizes seasonal ingredients and a lighter approach to cooking than your typical French chef. Vegetarians should look to the "Green" fixed price menu for their meal. While it may not be all that light, it will feature gourmet vegetarian cooking. The a la carte menu offers 6 appetizers such as King prawn and crab meat sauté, Mediterranean bisque with carpaccio of sea scallops, garden vegetables with grapes and argan oil, and a mixed green salad. There are typically 6-8 main dishes to select from with at least 2-3 fish options. Examples include roasted monkfish, steak of fresh cod, organic lamb, and sirloin steak with polenta and broad beans.
