Hot yogis have an option at this smaller studio which can hold 35 students. There are showers and locker rooms, but it can get tight!
A fantastic jogging route and unique urban escape during the day and a red-light district at night--bet you haven't seen that before?

This health club is certainly convenient to many hotels surrounding the touristy area of the Champs-Elysées. The closest is Hotel California that rests 50 yards away.

This particular health club offers those staying in the La Defense area a legitimate fitness alternative.

The only private health club in Montparnasse, this upscale sweat-house is a good, but pricey (25Euro admission), option for athletic-minded travelers. Within 10 minutes walk of most Montparnasse hotels, this appealing club is convenient too.
- Healthclub
The location for this popular health club chain is a decent hike from our recommended hotels, but we included it for those who might be staying nearby. The 25Euro admission fee is overpriced for this small Club Med. Cardio machines could use an upgrade as most are several year-old models.
- Healthclub
Unfortunately, we didn't realize that this club is CLOSED ON SUNDAYS, so we didn't get to take a look inside. From the outside, this particular Club Med looks to be smaller than the other Club Meds we toured.

As the largest public park in Paris and one of Montparnasse's beautiful greenscape gems, this park is a popular spot for curious tourists, romantic strollers and athletic-minded joggers.

Just take a look at the photos. This is no ordinary Bikram studio. It's upscale and attractive...rather unique for a Bikram studio. High ceilings, a spacious practice room that holds 85, natural light, expansive changing rooms (15 showers for women and 10 for men) and other peaceful touches.
- Bikram Yoga
Not a huge park, but big enough for a 1K dirt/clay path that encircles the perimeter, perfect for jogging or walking 3-4 miles (see our photos).
- Run or Hike Route
On the south side of Paris (near the Cite Universitaire) in the 14th arrondissement, this park offers a small greenspace with a useful .94-mile asphalt path. Early birds who want to run inside the park must wait for the gates to open at 8am during the week and 9am on weekends.

Lap swimming in a Parisian public pool is not for finicky swimmers searching for empty lanes, perfect water temps and pristine changing areas. Most Parisian pools are crowded, disorganized and a little dirty.

Lap swimming in a Parisian public pool is not for finicky swimmers who prefer empty lanes, perfect water temps and pristine changing areas. Most Parisian pools are crowded, disorganized and a little dirty. We're not trying to dissuade you from swimming to/fro in the City of Light, but keep your expectations in check. Fortunately, entry fees are very reasonable (currently 3.80 Euros at Des Halles) so a disappointing experience will not cost too much dough.

The most famous river in France, the Seine runs east/west through downtown Paris and beyond. Paved paths on both banks of the river create fantastic run, bike, and in-line skating routes.

Paris has a public bike rental program ("Velib") that makes cruiser bikes available to anyone wanting to ride (see our photos). More than 20,000 bikes and 1,450 self-service stations are spread across the city.

As the most upscale health club we visited in Paris, this facility has an easier time justifying the pricey 25Euro admission fee. Guests who book Club Level rooms at the Concord Lafayette receive complimentary admission, certainly the best way to go for athletic-minded travelers who intend on sweating here 2-3 days.
Located below the Concorde Lafayette hotel (and across the street from Le Meridien E'toile), Waou is a convenient workout option for guests of these two neighboring hotels, and the only option since neither offers a gym on property.
