This is somewhat of a "suburban" oasis in the West End of Richmond. With a 5-mile gravel and asphalt trail, easy access to restrooms, water, and well-lit parking, this is a safe and convenient choice for travelers staying in the West End. The official trail is hilly and heavily wooded (great for the hot Richmond summers), but there are hundreds of single-track dirt trails to access as well. These are primarily used by mountain bikers, so just keep your ears tuned and be ready to step aside.
The park is about 3 miles from our featured West End hotels. Travel east on Broad Street then turn RIGHT on Gaskins Road. 1.8 miles down Gaskins, turn RIGHT onto Ridgefield Road. There is ample free parking available. Basketball courts here too.
Hours: Daily, dawn to dusk.
Terrain: Combination of asphalt and gravel trail. Hilly and wooded.
Length: 5 miles
