We love uncovering peaceful and traffic-free venues jogging and walking. Fortunately, Rotterdam has a little gem of a park just outside of the city's heart. Our favorite place to run in Rotterdam, Het Park is southwest of the city's core.
Named the best public space in the Netherlands in 2007, this large public park boasts meandering woods and a lake making it worth the trip for a jog or walk. Still, you will have to commute here from downtown.
If you don't want to run in the nearby recommended park, the concrete sidewalk along the Maas River is a good second choice. While not as scenic as Het Park, pedestrian traffic is limited and it's an easy route to follow, just stay along the river.
Affectionately known as "The Swan," this modern bridge stretches across the Maas River for at least a quarter-mile. A wide sidewalk runs adjacent to the street where bicyclists, walkers and joggers make their way across.
