A popular tourist destination, this park is a veritable playground for hikers, trail runners, and mountain bikers. An extensive system of trails provides various levels of challenges, however the most popular is Phone Line Trail.
Located on the east side of the main parking lot, follow the dirt path and the trailhead is just over the double bridge. Be prepared to climb, as the first few miles are all uphill! At mile 5, the road splits with the right fork leading you further up the mountain and the left fork leading you to the end of the road (bathrooms are located here). Shuttles run from the visitor's center every 30 minutes if you need a ride back.
Note: Bicycle access is limited in some areas to early mornings and evenings, so be sure to check the website and visitor's center before heading out. There is a $5 fee per vehicle.
