This fun little studio is a great option for anyone staying in Georgetown. They feature Baptiste Power Yoga, an athletic style of hatha yoga performed in a room heated to about 85 degrees. Most of the classes are suitable for individuals with a background in hatha yoga, but if you're unsure we recommend checking out the "basics" class.
Given the posh neighborhood, the Georgetown name and the massive facility size, we expected a high-end health club. While it's hardly posh, the large facility will get the workout job done.
Across from Georgetown Hospital and just off of Resevoir Road you'll find this worn outdoor track. It's nothing too special, but may be a good option for those unfamiliar with the area and desiring an outdoor run.
The four lane track is owned by the University.
- Run or Hike Route
SoulCycle is an indoor cycling studio with multiple locations across the US and four in the DC area. Athletic-minded travelers can count on a heart pumping sweat and a fun experience. For our hard-core cyclist friends, the studios are a convenient alternative to renting a bike and/or navigating Washington DC's traffic. There are plenty of lockers to store your personal belongings and locker rooms have showers along with shampoo, soap, hair dryers etc. You can also rent spin shoes for $3.
- Group Ride
About a mile northwest of Georgetown Hospital (on Reservoir Rd.), lap swimmers will smile when they see this 6-lane, 25 yard lapper. Backstroke flags, toys and a pace clock are all here. There are locker rooms and showers.
