Mike's offers cycling tours as well as bike rentals. The shop is conveniently located 5 minutes from Marienplatz -- by foot, 100 meters from Isartor. The equipment for rent includes city bikes, Electra cruisers, kids bicycles and even "tag-a-long" attachments.

Runners Point
The most centrally-located running store in Munich. Selection and service above average too. In addition to hard core running shoes, apparel and gear, you may want to come here to buy a pair of casual/lifestyle shoes that your mates back home can't buy off the shelves.

Another general sporting goods store. Similar to Sportmart, Sports Authority, etc. in the USA. Good place for nutrition needs--bars, gels, etc. Stores in Laim and Buchenau as well.

Broad selection of sporting goods offered at this mega-store. Not as huge, but comparable in its offerings to REI in the U.S. Trekking equipment, ski stuff, etc. Several locations throughout the city.

One of the few cycling stores that also carries a significant amount of triathlon equipment. It's an easy U-Bahn ride from the center of town (south about 5 minutes -- Thalkirchen stop).

The Bianchi Store - Munich
Rivaling the Trek stores in the U.S., this pure Bianchi store carries nothing but its namesake products. Bikes, clothing, parts and accessories are all offered. Take U-Bahn 1 or U7 to Maillinger Street station.
