Located in downtown Mountain View, this lively tapas restaurant also features a big bar area that is perfect for those dining solo. Often there is live Latin music, so if a quiet dinner is what you crave, don't come here. The décor is warm and modern with soaring ceilings, tiled floors and trendy accouterments. It's cool. The menu is big and offers a plethora of athletic-minded fare in addition to larger entrées.
Athletic-minded highlights from the tapas menu include various salads, seafood, meat and veggie tapas, Peruvian ceviche, tuna tartar, a Cuban wrap with pork tenderloin, cilantro mojo and peppers, beef kabob, and eggplant tian. Cascal features paella and along with a number of main courses, but we think you'll be happy customizing with the huge tapas offering. The paellas can be ordered in small or large. The vegetable version is made with grilled veggies, herb green rice, a vegetable and herb stock and comes topped with a romesco sauce.
