Wow. Often college and university recreational facilities are off limits to travelers. Luckily, your $10 can gain you entry to this fitness fun. For $15 you can sweat and swim! There is myriad equipment of all modalities, sports courts, and group classes. The extras are awesome too. There's an indoor track, 3 basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a load of classes from Yoga, to Pilates to Zumba to Body Pump and more. The Center has two levels with over 20,000 square feet of space! All the equipment is well maintained.
Swimmers get treated royally. There are two outdoor pools. One is 50 meters and most often set up for short course which offers 20 lanes of lapping opportunity. The other more recreational pool is split into 3 areas and one of these includes 3 lanes of 25 meter lapping.
There are showers, locker rooms, but you need to bring your own lock and towel. Parking on campus is by permit only. Look for street parking via meter or hoof it there.
For lapping, keep in mind that often the Water Polo team uses the pool for practice from 4p-8p most weekdays. This means that there are typically only 4 lanes left for other swimmers. The Aquatic Center's hours are M-F 6a-10p and weekends 7a-9p.
