You can count on Westin to deliver an above average stay/play experience. This location, across the street from Stanford's campus, is a good rep for the brand. The first floor hotel gym is an appealing, contemporary room housing a decent number of workout opportunities. Three treadmills are positioned on one side of the room and three ellipticals on the other. At last check there were two recumbent bikes and a Peloton cycle. Along with the 5-25lbs dumbbell set, there are three stand-alone stack loaded machines, weighted balls, kettlebells and a modern pulley system. It's darned good.
Athletic-minded guests who desire an off-site workout can look to the nearby LaGree Fitness with its Megaformer classes. Westin's outdoor pool is for relaxation only. Lap swimmers should plan on driving five minutes to the Rinconada Pool ($6). Fortunately for joggers, the Stanford campus offers multiple challenging and delightful run routes. Main Campus Drive, the 400-meter track, and the "Dish Run" are the three best bets.
Other perks here are Westin's comfy beds, Heavenly Showers, free WiFi, marble bathrooms and an on-site restaurant. Westin's proximity to Stanford's campus is a big draw.
