Breaking up is hard to do...with Whole Foods

We try to show discipline. We avoid going. We wish we could stop. But alas, we can't resist what others just don't have.

Whole Foods Market is smart. Its 365 Brand's reasonable pricing lures cost conscious shoppers into the store. And once they are "in", they buy MORE, whole-paycheck style. We do. It's how our small basket adds up to 3 figures in a shopping nano second.

What happened to Trader Joes Soy Crisps?

Could it be that Athletic-Minded Traveler's recent blog about Trader Joe's nutrition bait and switch led to the discontinuation of the very tasty Soy Crisps? It was about a month after the post that I no longer spied my favorite crunchy and salty snack on the store's shelves.

Trader Joes Soy Crisps Have Changed. More Calories, Less Iron and Calcium

August 2009 Editor's Update: Trader Joe's has discontinued the Soy Crisps. Read more here.

Soy Crisps are one of my favorite healthy snack foods. Sort of like a chip, but with an impressive dose of protein...about 7-8 grams/serving. I love the crunch and taste--which for the BBQ flavor means a salty/sweet mix.

Calorie for calorie, Soy Crisps are a better choice over chips or other crisps (rice or potato).
